HomeChart Care is a simple shift-documentation app built for small residential care homes — by the operator of one. Shift checklists, resident care logs, and temperature logs your staff complete by tapping, with an inspection-ready packet you can print any time.
See pricing How it worksEvery checklist item stamps the time and the staff member’s name when it’s checked off. No more end-of-shift guesswork about what was actually done during the shift.
Monthly sheets and a full inspection packet print from the same records your staff already made — nothing to re-type, nothing to back-fill the night before a survey.
Staff tap instead of writing. Managers see what’s missing before the shift ends instead of finding gaps days later.
HomeChart Care is a documentation tool. It is not an eMAR, not a payroll or scheduling system, and not a medical record system — and it doesn’t pretend to be.
Resident records live on the device at your home, not on our servers. The Personal Care Log never leaves the tablet; the only copies that go out are the backup emails your checklists and temperature logs send to your own office inbox. See how your records are handled.
Small residential care facilities — adult residential facilities (ARFs) and residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs) up to about 16 beds — that are still documenting shifts on paper. If your home runs on binders, clipboards, and end-of-shift handwriting, HomeChart Care was built for exactly that. Each facility gets its own private link and its own staff and resident lists, so homes never mix records.
Flat per facility. Never per bed, never per user. No contract — month to month, cancel anytime.

Start with the Standard planSetup fee: $99 one-time. It’s waived for the first 3 founding facilities that give us feedback and a testimonial — if that’s you, write to us before you subscribe and we’ll set it up. Annual plan: prepay 10 months, get 12 — two months free. Ask us and we’ll send the annual option. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; your subscription renews automatically each period until you cancel. Full terms are on the terms page.
This is the part we won’t bend on:
One honest condition: your records live on your facility’s tablet, so they last as long as the tablet’s stored data is kept, or you hold a backup file. The app prompts a regular export routine, and checklist and temperature submissions keep emailed backup copies. A lost tablet with no backup is the one way records can be lost — export monthly, the same way you’d file paper. Separately, we keep your vendor-side setup restorable at no charge for 30 days after your paid period ends; after that, restoring it may require a new setup fee. That 30-day clock is about our setup work — never about your records.
Any tablet that stays at the facility — an iPad, an inexpensive Android tablet, a Chromebook, or a laptop at the med station. If it runs a web browser, it runs HomeChart Care. Two conditions matter: the tablet stays at the facility, and nobody clears the browser’s website data on it — that’s where the records live.
No. Month to month, cancel anytime — and cancelling works the way described above: full use through your paid period and the 14-day grace period, then Records Mode, where your records stay viewable, printable, and exportable on your tablet with no deadline.
If they can tap a checkbox, they can run it. Staff pick their name, tap checklist items as they do them, sign, and submit. The training video is under 4 minutes, and the printed quick-start sheet lives next to the tablet.
Your daily records live on that tablet, so a broken tablet is a real problem — we won’t pretend otherwise. Three things limit the damage: checklists and temperature logs are emailed to your office automatically as they’re submitted, you can export your records anytime, and we’ll help you set up a replacement tablet with your facility’s configuration at no extra setup charge.
Straight answer: there is no such thing as a “HIPAA certified” product — no official certification exists, and you should be careful with any vendor who claims one. Here’s how HomeChart Care actually works: resident records are stored on your facility’s own tablet, not on our servers, and the Personal Care Log never leaves the tablet. The only copies that go out are the backup emails your own checklist and temperature submissions send to your own office inbox. We don’t receive or store your care records, and our subscription check carries no resident information at all. Your facility keeps its normal safeguards — a passcode on the tablet, the tablet kept in your facility — the same way it does with paper charts.
Each facility gets its own private link, its own staff and resident lists, and its own subscription — records never mix between homes, which is how licensing expects it anyway. Pricing is per facility. Putting several homes on at once? Write to us first and we’ll work out the setup order.
Five founding spots at $49/month. When they’re gone, the standard $69 rate applies.

HomeChart Care is run by the same family that operates a licensed care home in Victorville, California. Support is by email during business hours (Pacific Time) — the same people who run a care home and use this app every shift.
